  <ingredient amount="2"   units="cups">flour</ingredient>
  <ingredient amount="1/2" units="tsp">salt</ingredient>
  <ingredient amount="1"   units="tsp">baking powder</ingredient>
  <ingredient amount="1/2" units="cup">butter</ingredient>
  <ingredient amount="2"   units="cups">heavy cream</ingredient>

  <direction>
    Whisk dry ingredients together.  Blend in <i>butter</i> until
    mixture resembles cornmeal.
  </direction>

  <direction>
    Add <i>cream</i> and mix well.
  </direction>

  <direction>
    Roll out to 1/2" thickness.
  </direction>

  <direction>
    Cut out biscuits.
  </direction>

  <direction>
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.

  <notes>
    For a very nice backpacking meal (very filling, keeps well):
    roll out to 1/4" instead of 1/2", cut into 3"x3" squares, pile
    some chopped <i>ham</i> and grated <i>swiss cheese</i> onto
    one biscuit, top with another, pinch to seal, bake 15-20 minutes.
